“CODEX”
a half-hour multimedia chamber opera with music by Felipe Perez Santiago composer and visual artist Rolando González.

Bogin’s lyrics, in English and Spanish with a trace of Náhuatl, track multiple voices across five centuries, from the prophetic visions of a woman who foresees the conquest to the texts of contemporary activists and hackers trying to outwit and unrun the news in a world ravaged by violence.

A retired salesman in Argentina has lived for 30 years with a dark secret. Called to testify about his role in the Dirty Wars, he is torn between his conscience and his desire to protect his grown daughter. When she learns the about his past, she faces an even starker choice: to protect her father, or to uphold the truth.
