I am currently developing an opera in Spanish based on the Mexican Day of the Dead, which invokes ancestral traditions to reclaim a sense of community in the face of outside predators.

Bogin’s lyrics, in English and Spanish with a trace of Náhuatl, track multiple voices across five centuries, from the prophetic visions of a woman who foresees the conquest to the texts of contemporary activists and hackers trying to outwit and unrun the news in a world ravaged by violence.
